Anuradha SenGupta: But did you read Othello to get into the skin of the character Omkara?
Ajay Devgan: Not really…
What a pity. But then Devgan also talks about how he likes his culture packaged: “I like knowing about things in whatever format, if it’s a DVD or if it’s a thinner book then it’s fine. Otherwise, I don’t finish it.”
Being Ajay Devgan must be terribly exciting.

Uma,
Well at least he’s honest about not reading “Othello”.

Uma, won’t you put us all out of our misery and tell us how “Omkara” is?
(I especially enjoyed the interviewer’s high school exam format: “Is Othello a weak man or a strong man?” Answer NOW!)

Uma:
I saw part of the interview. I must say I am impressed with Ajay Devgan (ok, ok, I have a HUGE crush on him which predates his cool roles - I even liked him in his first few movies) but less so with the interviewer. Whats with the interrupting him when he starts on a phrase and the badgering about Shakespeare and the whole “don’t you think its relevant more so because you are a star” kind of repeated interrogation?
Cheers
Neela

Y’all, I like Devgan too, though his attitude is a bit much. Am looking forward to Omkara. Haven’t seen a movie in a hall for a MONTH now so I’m having withdrawal symptoms…

Oh, and km, Neela, as for the interviewer’s questions, here’s another: “Ajay Devgan is a film star, no doubt about that. And yet, he is not a film star. Am I correct in making that statement?”
As for her not knowing which commercials he’s been doing - don’t they have a research section at their TV channel?
Bleh.
