You should sent this news item to Pallavi Iyer of the Hindu. She has became myopic (treatment by her big boss in Chennai) in reporting China affairs.

It’s almost like China is actively creating allegories of its own abuse of power.
Frightening.

This is gruesome, no doubt. However, such incidents on a smaller scale have occurred in India and will recur. Rabies is endemic to India. Given the pressures of space on wild carriers of the disease, give the large population of ‘strays’, given the density of human population, an epidemic is waiting to happen. When this happens, municipal and city agencies—not normally the most thoughtful—will react in an irrational manner. This irrational response will actually be welcomed by many as ‘doing something at last’. There are simple solutions to prevent this situation from happening, but this requires ‘civic- involvement’ (an oxymoron?)

Not only did they do the wrong thing, they did it in such an inhumane way.
