Not a purely rhetorical question, but why is Gandhi still a symbol of our independence? In all truth, we are no longer the country he fought to free, nor are we the people he wished to empower. Perhaps the more relevant question, and maybe one that is much larger than us as individuals, is whether what we call freedom has been named accurately.
