<description>"That was the beginning of the century; this is its end. I have been thinking not only of the people who lived there once, but also of the generations of dogs accompanying them in their everyday bustle, and one night— I don't know where it came from— in a predawn sleep, that funny and tender phrase composed itself: a road-side dog." - Czeslaw Milosz, Borderlines.</description>

<description>Ustad Bismillah Khan, should be remembered for the grace he bestowed on all those that could hear with the heart.

In his passing we shall come to see that few are deemed worthy of walking in his shoes.
Many may try, but few shall have the depth of character and honesty that comes from a life lived through music and the one god.
His life is testimony to this truth!

On the religio political front, such a man touched by god is hardly the vehicle for such folly.
A wise man has no place in politics, and a man of god knows no division.

May his musical legacy live through those who cherish the things he came to know and love in this world.

Rest old friend, for soon your vestments will be renewed and your music revived to quench the thirst of those who seek.

Peace, love &amp;amp; respect to those he left behind.

<description>On India’s first Republic Day, Ustad Bismillah Khan had enthralled audiences with a sterling performance from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
But fate did not allow the shehnai maestro to fulfill his last wish, that of playing at India Gate.
