Came across this great Salon interview of Grace Paley by A.M.Homes.
AMH: I remember you saying you wrote a book every 10 years; are you a very slow writer or were there always so many other things going on?GP: There really is a lot going on — raising children, political activities, teaching — and it’s also that I never developed good habits. My husband, Bob, always says, “Grace doesn’t have a single habit.” I do have habits [laughs]. It’s just all my habits are bad.
This reminds of the nike factory in indonessia where women were never let out, not even for relieving themselves! their periods were strictly monitored..never allowed to become pregnant and what not
