"That was the beginning of the century; this is its end. I have been thinking not only of the people who lived there once, but also of the generations of dogs accompanying them in their everyday bustle, and one night— I don't know where it came from— in a predawn sleep, that funny and tender phrase composed itself: a road-side dog." - Czeslaw Milosz, Borderlines.

hi, wrote once and lost comment... stopped by after long, and was thrilled to see a post on my favourite topic - children's picture books... i wrote an article on some of the unmissables - it's here at http://aniamit.blogspot.com/2009/01/normal-0-microsoftinternetexplorer4.html (if you do want to take a look use firefox, as there's some bug with IE)...
lucky you to have two babies - one to gurgle with and one to read to! :)

Long time no visit your blog. But may I suggest "The Gruffalo" by Julia Donaldson ( i think) and also "The Whale and the Snail" by the same author. Fab to read out loud. And of course, all the Dr Seuss books.

Dear Uma,

Did you try "the very hungry caterpillar" by Eric Carle? Not bedtime though, but has helped me feed my son.

During the bed time it is " How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? "

Happy singing uh reading.

With regards
